Carl Helder has over twenty five years of experience in music and music education. He was first introduced to the piano at the age of 5. In his teens, he taught himself to play the guitar and bass. As a young adult Carl received his BM in Music Education from William Paterson University and later returned there for his MA.

Carl is currently on staff at Glen Rock High School where he directs the Concert Choir, Concert Band, Chamber Choir and Women’s Choir. Mr. Helder also teaches courses in Music Theory and Music Production. His duties also include being Musical Director for many high school and community theatre productions including The Drowsy Chaperone, Mamma Mia, Legally Blonde, A Chorus Line, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Joseph, Pippin, and West Side Story to name just a few.

Carl enjoys to play and teach all styles of popular music from classical to pop, rock to jazz. Carl performs as solo piano, piano accompanist and with various size ensembles at social events, corporate parties, religious ceremonies, etc.
